JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: St PancrasHours: Full time, fixed term until 31/07/2025Grade: CSalary £27,300 We're seeking a motivated individual to join our enthusiastic, high-performing team and contribute to the delivery of an ambitious strategy, aiming to make business support accessible to everyone through the British Library's Business & IP Centre (BIPC). We support start-up businesses and entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds across the UK to develop the insight, skills and confidence they need to start and grow successful businesses. For the past 12 years, the British Library has also established a National Network of 21 partner libraries offering BIPC services across the UK. With excellent communication and people skills, you will take ownership of select marketing campaigns that bring to life the Business & IP Centre's offer, working to reach our target audience of entrepreneurs and small business owners. You will support the National Network Marketing Manager and work closely with other members of the marketing team to develop and implement strong, content-led marketing plans. These will raise awareness of the BIPC and its services, including the National Network of 21 regional libraries as well as our flagship business events and workshop programme. Working collaboratively within the broader Marketing team (Digital Engagement, Campaigns, Audience Insight and Design), as well as other colleagues in the Business Audiences Team, you'll create content for channels including email, social and web, using a variety of different digital platforms and tools. Writing copy for print and digital collateral will come naturally to you. You'll be a creative thinker with experience of working on marketing campaigns, including social media management and have a genuine interest in supporting entrepreneurs, including those from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds. You must be a team player and a confident communicator who can build strong working relationships with colleagues. You'll also support the team in key tasks from undertaking grassroots marketing activity to reach specific audiences, to supervising photographers and assisting with out of hours events. We have manuscripts, maps, newspapers, magazines, prints and drawings, music scores, and patents. We make our collections and programmes available to all. We operate the world's largest document delivery service providing millions of items a year to customers all over the world. What matters to us is that we preserve the national memory and enable knowledge to be created both now and in the future by anyone, anywhere. In return we offer a competitive salary and a number of excellent benefits. Our pension scheme is one of the most valuable benefits we offer, as our staff can become members of the Alpha Pension Scheme where the Library contributes a minimum of 26.6% (this may be higher dependant on grade). Another significant benefit the Library provides is the provision of a flexible working hours scheme which could allow you to work your hours flexibly over the week and to take up to 5 days flexi leave in a 3 month period. This is on top of 25 days holiday from entry and public and privilege holidays.
