Roles at the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner (OPCC) can range from delivering education sessions in schools as part of the Violence Reduction Unit to supporting the Commissioner's drive to provide support services to victims of crime. The Role

This is an exciting role which will have you working at the heart of the OPCC, overarching several specialist areas. You will lead on correspondence management, helping to resolve complaints to support the Commissioner to ensure that she reflects the needs of communities in her work programme. Serving our communities is at the very heart of this role.

What do I need?

Relevant degree or four-year equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • A strong track record of delivering in a fast-paced public facing environment.
  • Experience of dealing with correspondence for a high-profile person.
  • Experience in public affairs and identification of ‘issues' to inform activity to build and maintain a strong reputation for the PCC.
  • Experience providing direct support to elected officials
  • Understanding of the governance and scrutiny role of the PCC.
  • Experience of minute taking and writing, with attention to detail and able to draft / edit written documents and correspondence independently.
  • Ability to organise and manage stakeholder events.
  • The flexibility to work additional / out of hours as necessary to fulfil requirements of the role and meet the business needs.

Vetting Level - Recruitment Vetting (RV)

Applicants must be a resident of the UK for a minimum period of 3 years to ensure vetting checks can be successfully performed. A job offer will be dependent upon vetting clearance, medical information and references.
