Job Responsibility:
Support Services Lead Admin - FTC UK Defence Academy, Swindon, SN6 8LA Full time, 12 months FTC £23,570 per annum plus benefits Serco is contracted to provide Total Facilities Management to the Defence Academy of the UK (DA). This prestigious establishment is responsible for post-graduate education and most of the command, staff, leadership, Defence management, acquisition, and technology training for members of the UK Armed Forces and MOD Civil Servants. Serco supports the DA as the MOD's primary link with UK universities and international military educational institutions. Serco have an exciting new role as a Support Services Lead Administrator for a fixed term contract of 12 months. You will provide general administrative support to the department and Team Leaders. The role sits within the Support Services Department and provides may include imbedded support to our military and civil service customers at the Defence Academy. This role would be perfect for someone looking to do a year in industry for a 12 month placement.
Key Accountabilities: As part of this role you will work in the Support Services department to gain an overall knowledge of some of the following areas that Support Services are responsible for: Finance and Payroll Travel PA support Purchasing Welfare support Medical Centre support MOD administration support Events, Protocol and Defence Engagement 3rd Party Income Generation Events Security and Vetting Serco uniforms and staff induction To provide administrative support to the Leadership team and assist with special projects To provide cover for other Lead Administrators during periods of increased workload or absence. Continuously examine processes and make recommendations for improvements. Be proactive within the department and assist your colleagues and customers to achieve a high level of service
What you'll need to do the role: Good level of general education, with GCSE's (A-C) or equivalent in English and Mathematic Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels Good attention to detail Ability to work under pressure The Defence Academy sits within a beautiful and secure site which hosts 2 lakes and is surrounded by acres of scenic woodland. The Academy trains the future commanders and staff officers of all three UK Armed Services and those from many countries around the world.
