Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to our Edinburgh or Newcastle offices 2-3 days per week for this position.

We're looking for a Head of Enterprise Architecture to join our Insurance Money and Services team.

As the Head of Enterprise Architecture, you'll lead our Insurance & Money Services architecture team. You'll be part of the technology leadership team and will help deliver our insurance & money services go to market plans, growth strategies, and our customer experience. You'll help to develop our supporting technology strategy with a focus on:

  • Embracing and driving significant value from new technologies, including data analytics and AI technologies.
  • Achieving better quality, cost discipline and speed to market across our technology and digital investments.
  • Delivering solutions reliably at scale, cheaper and faster.
  • Creating leading-edge digital experiences for customers and employees.
  • Transforming our legacy architecture and embracing new technology innovations, reducing the cost to serve.
  • Ensuring appropriate risk management, security, and resilience of our systems and operation.

What you'll be doing

  • Enterprise Architecture - Develop a strategic architecture plan, ensuring key features are prioritised appropriately, estimates are reliable, benefits can be realised, and design activities are proactively monitored and tracked to meet planned time frames and the overall architecture plan.
  • Enterprise Infrastructure Modernisation - Define strategy for an enterprise architecture function that embeds digital assets and capabilities, supporting the design and implementation of digital strategy and organisation, process, and policies.
  • Lead analysis, evaluation, and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the enterprise architecture is synchronised with ever-changing business needs and the complexity of digital transformation.
  • Horizon Scanning - Identify new external developments and / or emerging issues for Insurance & Money Services and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement - Help lead the review of existing operations and the implementation of innovation processes across the division or function to ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered.
  • Information and Business Advice - Provide authoritative specialist advice to the leadership team and other stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Direction - Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the Insurance & Money Services architectural strategy; explain the relationship to the broader organisation's objectives; motivate people to commit to these goals.
  • Performance Management - Manage and report on performance within the department; set appropriate performance priorities for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.
