Job Responsibility:

We are looking for a full time Theatre Porter with previous experience or someone who has a genuine interest in this role. Are you patient focused, do you want to work in a fast paced environment delivering high quality care? If so we would like to hear from you. You will work as a competent member of the theatre team, performing a wide range of duties in all areas and across two sites The efficient use of the Trust‘s resources are dependent on the effectiveness of all staff. You will support the trained members of staff in making both the theatre and day surgery units safe and pleasant for patients and staff and will be expected to undergo training as necessary. Assisting the qualified staff within the department, preparing, cleaning and maintaining all areas of the theatre/day surgery units. Keep all areas of the units clean and tidy as required (according to the cleaning checklists) and facilitate a team approach to good housekeeping. Collect from and return patients to the wards pre and post operatively. Assist the ODP in the anaesthetic room as required ensuring that you do not breach professional boundaries. Assist with transferring and positioning of patients in theatre. Maintaining patient trolleys and equipment. Collection of blood from Blood Bank when needed. Transfer specimens to Pathology. To check and collect gas cylinders.
