Here's what you'll be doingUse of Procurement Process Model (PPM)
- Follow the requirements of the PPM as appropriate
- Develop category product and service expertise through market research and internal analysis, to optimise products utilised within the business in conjunction with technical experts in the business
- Develop and implement appropriate category plans with internal management that ensure goods and services within the role holder's category responsibility provide best long term value for E.ON
- Advise and recommend on the appropriate “make v buy” commercial strategy to ensure that services are appropriately outsourced
- Execute sourcing strategy in line with best practice and PPM guidelines
- Maintain effective supplier relationships to ensure that they consistently meet (or preferably exceed) business expectations. This may include regular reports on supplier performance, or liaison with the Supplier Development team on supplier improvement projects
UK Supply Chain Team
- Contribute to the training and development of other members of the UK Procurement team to ensure that E.ON's supplier cost reduction targets are achieved and team members' individual performance is maximised
- Proactive and effective support of the wider E.ON group, and its supplier network. Where appropriate for the category, take part in collaborative sourcing activity with other group companies
- Perform required activities in use of the SAP procurement system in a timely manner to maximise efficiency and effectiveness
- Where necessary undertake activities in support of wider E.ON group processes and systems, including provision of data and reports
The job holder is generally required to work with reference to broad practices and procedures which are covered by functional precedents and policies. The job holder is likely to be responsible for the delivery of a prescribed operational activity and the job is subject to managerial direction and review of results. As such they must
- Contribute towards the cost saving target of the UK Procurement department to increase company profitability
- Develop strong and effective internal relationships with all levels of the business to ensure that business requirements are reflected within contractual documentation and in a way that reduces/mitigates E.ON's exposure to risk
- Generate innovative ideas to improve E.ON's profitability through supplier activity
- Undertake specific procurement activity as determined by the category sourcing strategy, to be agreed with the internal customer as part of their project programme
What we need from you- Previous experience in a procurement role with significant responsibility for selecting, contracting with, and managing high spend/ high risk suppliers
- A detailed understanding of purchasing and supply chain issues and category management practices, linked to possession of/ study for a related professional qualification (e.g . MCIPS, or equivalent)
- The ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders (internal and external)
- Comprehensive legal knowledge of supply contracts, and the ability to negotiate and agree terms & conditions for complex contracts
- Ability to propose and develop new ideas and processes for improving the effectiveness of the UK Procurement team
- Ability to work independently/ unsupervised and deliver required outcomes
- Promote fairness and equality in all dealings with E.ON staff
- Ensure that all suppliers meet the E.ON Responsible Procurement Policy
- A proactive focus on the management of relationships with key clients, third parties and external stakeholders
- Evidence of commitment to further development of relevant skills and knowledge either by formal study or other methods (e.g. postgraduate degree)
- The necessary skills and aptitude to deputise for the Procurement Manager in his / her absence
- Demonstrable skill in the coaching and mentoring of individual team members across the UK Procurement team (which may include line management responsibility)
- A “one team” approach with a demonstrable commitment and contribution to the overall development of the UK Procurement and Supply Chain team.
