Your New Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Operative/ Stores Person to join our Street Lighting Account in Manchester (Hybrid role - 2 days in the stores, 3 days onsite)

Our Street lighting account which was awarded to us in 2004 is to support Manchester Street Lighting. This account includes the design, supply, and installation of new high-quality streetlights, as well as the maintenance and management of existing units.

Electrical Operative/ Stores Person plays an important part in carrying out all aspects of electrical installation and maintenance works and providing an efficient parts stores ensuring stock levels remain accurate and that parts are available as quickly as possible at the lowest cost possible.

The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week (0730 - 1600, 5 days a week)

You will be responsible for:

Electrical Operative

• Carry out routine maintenance
• Excavate for column, bollard and sign foundations
• High demand for physical tasks i.e. digging and working at heights up to 12 metres
• Install electrical equipment

Stores Person

• Issue required stock to technicians on request and in a timely manner
• Keep the Stores in a good state of cleanliness and tidiness at all times
• Carry out regular checks on impress and non-impress stock to ensure accurate levels are kept
• Ensure parts are purchased at best available prices
