Full time, 3 days a week together out of our Manchester Digital Hub (flexible 2 days remote wherever).

About this role

As a Product Owner you will be driving development of key products in BT group.

Specifically, you will be working on a programme that will transform BT's security, privacy, compliance and risk processes for technology, making sure that they're consistently applied, automated, easy to access and follow.

A huge part of the success of this programme relies on our ability to deliver our programme commitments against scope, costs, time & quality measures. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for squad(s) of the tribe. We are working to embrace Agile ways of working and you'll be key in our Agile maturation as a programme team.

What you'll be doing

  • Use product discovery techniques to understand pain points, needs & desires of target user groups and to understand opportunities that meet the programme goals (i.e. business needs)
  • Interface with cross functional stakeholders and programme leads in compliance space along with end users and ensure the Product Backlog reflects the right features and priorities
  • Collaborate with other key roles in squad - UX designer, Business analyst, Solution Designer, Solution/Enterprise architect etc. to scope the right opportunities and define the right solutions & user experience
  • Create & communicate requirements to the squad, prioritise the Product backlog items and refine them with the squad
  • Collaborate with members of delivery squad to ensure completion of sprint goals and quarterly PI goals
  • Support the development of enhancements to existing products by understanding and analysing user needs
  • Support your squad and tribe in agile maturity (Scrum/ Agile methodologies)
  • Write specifications and support the coordination of product releases
  • Support product launches and delivery of key capabilities
  • Gather and incorporate product feedback into subsequent product releases
  • Support in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within the area of product management

You will have the following skills & experience:

  • Demonstrable product owner experience within a digital environment
  • Awareness of agile methodologies, ideally having worked within a squad
  • Proficiency in customer need identification, user story definition, backlog prioritisation and story mapping
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with engineering teams as well as wider business stakeholders
  • Desirable - Understanding of product lifecycle, discovery techniques and roadmaps
