Reporting to the EU Insights Director, the EU Shopper Insight leads will be a strong, strategic, thought leader ensuring each cluster is executing plans with the latest shopper insight where applicable down to the market & channel level. This person will be a strategic co-pilot, collaborating at a senior level with clusters to identify future risks & growth opportunities in alignment with Mars portfolio & the wider category.

  • Strategic co-pilot with MS&D to drive planning & execution, building out your network to ensure recommendations are actionable with sales & category teams alike.
  • Strong strategic thinker with an ability to set direction for a team & partner effectively.
  • Ability to lead & explain complex research to understand current and future trends in a simple manner.
  • A passion for building effective & engaged broad teams across geographies.
  • Solid commercial acumen with the ability to engage and drive action amongst senior stakeholders.
  • Passion for cats and dogs would be ideal.
  • Be an independent voice of reason utilizing shopper insight as a force for good in strategy, planning & execution within the clusters and the markets.
  • Inquisitive insight professional, who enjoys understanding what drives purchase behavior and performance to drive business value & solutions.
  • Enjoy working in a global business with a broad network of stakeholders and able / comfortable navigating a complex environment.
  • Biased toward action. Taking initiative, entrepreneurial skills and hitting the ground running to move projects forward right from the start.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Drive both foundational & groundbreaking insight that step changes what we know about local consumers, retailers & competition within a cluster to inform strategy
  • Quarterly shopper / business round ups keeping track of performance within the category in relation to the market with actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to share strategic shifts and trends across the cluster whilst deep diving into market patterns, formulating hypothesis & strategies that are actionable & drive performance.
  • Drive & expand channel understanding within the cluster, fostering a channel / shopper centric approach.
  • Have a senior seat at the table for cluster led decision making forums, ensuring learning plans are created, interpreted & executed in line with ambition at both cluster & market level.
  • Build channel, shopper & cluster / market insights via research & analysis. Collaborating with internal & external stakeholders (including customer, sales, MS&D & market teams)
  • Collaborate with portfolio & category insight leads to ensure insights & recommendations for the cluster align with the category direction & portfolio priorities.
  • Establish & develop partnerships with agencies to ensure continuous best practice and cutting-edge insight.
