Job Responsibility:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the National Response Centre at UKHSA for the role of an administrative apprentice. The National Response Centre is responsible for coherence and coordination of situational awareness and preparedness to effectively respond to incidents, response to incidents and recovery from incidents. The successful post holder will receive training in the areas of administration, organisational skills, minute taking and diary management along with undertaking the Level 3 qualification in Business Administration. It is essential for candidates to be educated to GCSE level in English and Maths at grade C (4) or above or other equivalent qualification. Some experience in an administrative role is desirable but not essential. Your key responsibilities will include: To provide administrative support to the National Response Centre Team and other emergency response functions/staff as required, including diary management, dealing with emails, travel arrangements, booking accommodation, arranging and taking minutes of meetings. To be responsible for the development and maintenance of information databases of emergency plans, contacts and other relevant information. To utilise modern office technology for the efficient delivery of administrative and clerical duties associated with exercise and/or training events. In the event of an incident where an incident is stood up - assist in its setting up, and thereafter, fulfil an operational role within it Undertake project work as required. The Apprentice Emergency Preparedness Administrator will work within the National Response Centre (NRC) to provide administrative support towards the management and co-ordination of UKHSA's national response to public health incidents and in the lessons identified process following these incidents. They will work together with all members of the National Response Centre team and the wider EPRR Directorate to provide an accurate and effective administrative support service. They will be expected to work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing a wide range of specific administrative duties. The post holder will work with colleagues who are based across the country at different sites and/or who work remotely. Selection Process This vacancy will be assessed using a competency-based framework which will assess your Qualifications, knowledge, and experience and / or skills and capabilities outlined in the essential criteria listed in the Person Specification below. Location information UKHSA operates a hybrid working model where business needs allow. This provides us with greater flexibility about how and where we work, to get the best from our workforce. As a hybrid worker, you will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of your contractual working hours (approximately 3 days a week pro rata, (averaged over a month) working at one of UKHSA's locations (Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, and London). Specialist or regional roles will be based at the appropriate UKHSA site.
