The Sustainable and Institutional Multi Asset (MA) sub team oversees approximately US$5 billion in assets under management (AUM). They focus on developing and managing sustainable product offerings within the UK MA team, including mutual funds and discretionary multi-asset services. The team upholds high standards in portfolio management, monitoring and governance. The individual in this role will be actively involved in the investment decision process, execute trades in client portfolios, and contribute to multi-asset research in the UK and globally. This presents a unique opportunity to join one of the largest Multi Asset teams in the investment management sector. The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in the daily management of the team's portfolios and demonstrate a keen interest in advancing their understanding of sustainable investing.

In this role you will:

  • Assist the team in building and managing multi-asset portfolios, which involves strategic asset allocation, tactical asset allocation, and selecting securities/funds.
  • Manage, verify, and generate data on key portfolio positions, performance, risk analysis, and implementation instructions.
  • Enhance the Multi-Asset team's global research platform by conducting independent research on tactical trading ideas as well as engage in the research and creation of sustainable equity themes.
  • Support portfolio review and governance processes
  • Attend client and marketing events and represent the team's investment views, positioning, performance and investment process.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Due to being a regulated position you must have or be actively working towards the IMC certificate and CFA Program. Given the sustainability perspective of this role a willingness to complete the CFA ESG Certificate and other CFA sustainable related qualifications would be a requirement.
  • Essential: Previous experience in Portfolio Management is essential. The position demands a solid grasp of global investment markets and securities, as the team oversees multi-asset portfolios across various asset classes and security types.
  • Good communication skills, strong team player, client centric attitude, proactive attitude, ability to work independently.
  • A strong interest and some knowledge of sustainable investing is preferred.
  • Some quantitative skills are beneficial. Proficiency in sourcing and managing data, including spreadsheet creation, data retrieval, and manipulation, along with basic coding abilities in R or Python, is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to established processes as the role is dealing with client assets in a fiduciary capacity, along with the ability to meet deadlines effectively.
