As the Head of Cyber Culture and Ethics, you'll shape and foster a positive and secure culture within BGIUK. Reporting directly to the BGIUK CISO, you will be accountable for setting the overall strategic direction on cyber ethics, insider risk, security, education awareness and communications. You will lead your team in developing and delivering cyber awareness and education initiatives and caigns, ensuring our colleagues are well-equipped to navigate the cyber landscape while upholding high cyber ethical standards.

The role will contribute directly to the BGIUK CISO Leadership team and information security function, focusing on the delivery of outcomes that drive a positive cyber culture and supporting Bupa's values, especially our goal to be Highly Trusted by our customers.

How you'll help us make health happen:

  • Design and develop the strategic direction for Cyber Ethics, Insider Risk, and Awareness and Communication for BGIUK.

  • Own the strategy and roadmap for information security training and awareness ensuring it aligns closely with the strategic direction for cyber security.

  • Work with legal and compliance to develop and implement a Cyber Ethics framework that aligns with Bupa values and industry best practices.

  • Act as the subject matter expert for all general cyber awareness initiatives within the Information Security function and supporting security incident response with messaging and additional awareness communications across the MU.

  • Evaluate the ethical considerations and opportunities of cyber security practices such as AI, providing recommendations for improvement and the right processes for cyber safety.

  • Form an insider risk framework including documenting and maintaining procedures, practices, and policies to implement detection methods and strategies to manage the risk.

  • Regularly communicate cyber culture initiatives, updates, and achievements to the BGIUK CISO and other key stakeholders.

  • Develop evidenced based metrics to measure the success of cyber awareness caigns and lead on data-driven continuous improvements and stakeholder feedback.

What you'll bring

  • Leadership experience in technology or information security roles.

  • Experience of defining and implementing a cyber training and awareness strategy and programme of work in a large organisation.

  • Innovative thinking with sound moral judgement with the ability to balance the capability of the technology and then what's a suitable use/deployment of it.

  • Experience of delivering classroom and video call based education.

  • Experience of translating complex technical concepts into succinct and easily understood communications.

  • Familiarity of common information security foundations and management frameworks, such as ISO 27001, ITIL, CIS, OWASP and NIST.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you must be able to articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience.
