We're looking for a Senior Planning & Reporting Manager (Financial Planning & Analysis function) to lead this function within our Commercial Finance team at Tesco Bank

You'll have exposure to several Executive stakeholders in this role as well as playing a pivotal role in the wider Finance function. The role will focus on ensuring the Planning & Reporting (P&R) team deliver monthly Exec reporting, forecasting and insight to inform the financial impact of strategic decision making as well as setting the broader team development and alignment.

This role will lead the Planning & Reporting team and will be a key member of the Commercial Finance leadership team as well as supporting the broader Finance Function. Key stakeholders will include the Head of Commercial Finance, Chief Financial Officer along with the Product Finance teams and the relevant Business Executives.

This role will best suit someone who can demonstrate an ambition to grow and deliver business outcomes. In doing this, the opportunity to put your own stamp on the outputs of the team and service offering is available along with being involved in broader finance and business leadership decision making.

What you'll be doing
  • Lead the P&R team in order to manage the P&L & deliver monthly MI and other ad hoc reports to ExCo, Board and Group Finance.
  • Lead the LTP and Rolling Forecast processes, setting timetable & cascading requirements, challenging the business area submissions ensuring deadlines met and plans delivered to the required standard.
  • Manage the relationship with Investor Relations and Internal Communications to ensure effective delivery of quarterly external results announcements.
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of products to enable the provision of challenge & oversight to reporting produced in the team ensuring that content continues to remain relevant, insightful and adds value in supporting key strategic and other decisions at ExCo and Board.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, primarily Decision Support teams, Financial Control and key Group colleagues (Group Finance & Investor Relations).
  • Lead & coach the team to ensure that they deliver effectively against the priorities and continue to develop both their technical and business skills.
  • Pro-actively identify and manage the risks within my area, ensuring they are within the Bank's risk appetite tolerance and that relevant legislation and Bank policies are complied with.
We need you to have
  • Professional accountancy qualification (minimum + [5] years qualified experience).
  • Experience of providing concise, insightful financial reporting, analysis and MI to senior executives.
  • Highly proficient communicator across all levels of an organisation

  • Experience in Insurance or Financial Services
  • Track record of leading a team of finance professionals to deliver high quality financial reporting.
  • Experience of working in a rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrable experience of being able to quickly form networks and hit the ground running.

Role Alignment

Following the announcement regarding Tesco's' strategic partnership with Barclays, this role will support our banking business and will transfer to Barclay's UK towards the end of 2024, subject to regulatory approval. Please note, the transfer date may change.
