Job Responsibility:
The successful candidate will be be responsible for the day to day running of the Community Hospital Catering Departments and manage all Catering services, ensuring deliver of a high quality, patient focused, sustainable and cost effective service. Working closely with the Catering Facilities Manager and the Domestic Service Manager to achieve this.
The main duties will include: Ensure all Catering services provide the nutritional and dietary requirements for all patients and liaise with Dietitians and Speech and Language to ensure menus meet these criteria. Manage the Health and Safety for all staff and undertake risk assessments as required. Ensure compliance with Food Safety Legislation. Ensure all ward kitchens follow codes of practice. Communicate with staff on all matters relating to Catering and trust values ensuring understanding of instructions. Use own initiative, organising workload and prioritising duties to meet deadlines. Provide professional and technical leadership within Catering and report any equipment faults. Manage the ESR system. Undertake all performance reviews and wellbeing with staff ensuring objectives are set and PDP's. Responsible for recruitment of new staff. Manage disciplinary, grievance, capability and sickness absence. Manage the staff and visitor cafes and restaurants within your area. Manage a delegated budget. Ensure weekly rotas are complied. Complete monthly timesheet for payment of staff wages. Collate and analyse food waste for monthly Trust Board meeting. Collate bi-monthly catering satisfaction surveys, producing action plans where necessary. Create and develop the HACCP. Create Allergen files for the menus. Ensure all ordering meets the needs of the service and work with staff to ensure they achieve best value for money.
