About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Investment Officer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis, offering hybrid working opportunities. The role can be based from our central offices in Crewe, Oldham, London, or Bristol. Guinness exists to improve lives and create possibilities for people. This role, based within our Social Investment team, sits right at the heart of that mission. The team works with a network of community partners across our locations who we support to deliver activities that alleviate hardship, build inclusive communities, and generate employment, education, and training opportunities. Last year through a combination of direct and partner-led activities we supported over 35,000 people including nearly 15,000 Guinness residents to access affordable food and clothing, run community hubs, participate in youth and community services including intergenerational activities, holiday clubs, mentoring, sports, improving health and wellbeing, and much more. What we're looking for The successful candidate will be ambitious to make a positive difference in our communities. You will need to be highly organised as you will be responsible for tracking and monitoring social investment projects, supporting the development of a new impact framework, and working with the team to ensure data returns from partners. Reporting into the Senior Community Partnership Manager you will support the Community Investment team's partnership work, in delivering its strategy and operating plan. This will include co-ordinating and supporting the social investment steering group. You'll also co-ordinate the customer and community Aspire awards, working with colleagues to maximise their impact for our customers. We're a customer-focussed organisation so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. To be a success in this role you'll not only be a dedicated Social Investment Officer, but you'll also have great customer service skills and a willingness to learn and want to make a difference. You'll also be able to demonstrate:
  • Good understanding of social/community investment, in particular tracking measuring and monitoring impact.
  • Experience of working with social/community investment tools.
  • Proven experience of supporting a team to deliver high quality and impactful work.
  • Experience of working with different data sources - analysing and manipulating the information to produce reports for different audiences.
  • Highly self-motivated and will pursue goals with rigour and good judgement.
  • Experience of managing projects including use of relevant tools.
  • Proven track record of delivering a high-quality and customer focussed service.
  • Confident collaborator and networker both with colleagues and with external stakeholders who can build and maintain excellent working relationships.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills for writing reports, case studies, briefings, and presentations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours

Essential Qualifications:

  • Educated to Level 3 (A level or equivalent)
  • Level 2 Maths (GCSE grade C or above)

Desirable:

  • Chartered Institute of Housing Certificate in Housing Practice
  • Level 3 or Business Studies Qualification.
