Job Responsibility:

Village Leathers is looking for a Retail Assistant to join our small team. Responsible for selling our range of handmade and sourced leather accessories, we're looking for someone friendly with customer service experience and an eye for visual merchandising.

The role is at Jubilee Market in Covent garden, the ideal candidate will be comfortable in and familiar with the hustle and bustle of a traditional market environment. Someone who will be confident taking responsibility for the space, presentation of the stock and engaging customers in a friendly and helpful manner.

The hours are: 10 am to 7pm, Sunday - Thursday. Please don't apply if you are unable to meet these hours.

About You

We're looking for someone with a can-do attitude and broad understanding of a small business who can confidently support and assist customers as well as carrying out responsibilities pertaining to stock and visual merchandising in a self directed manner. A people person with keen initiative can flourish in this role.

About Us

Village Leathers is an independent Leather Accessories and Belt Studio based in London. We've been in business since 1974 and have grown into two shops based in Covent Garden's Jubilee Market as well as several online outlets. Our new team member will be based at our Covent Garden market store.

The Position

• Processing sales, upselling specific/relevant products to customers.
• Maintaining outlined displays, and general cleanliness and tidiness in the shop.
• Liaising with customers and answering questions.
• Ensuring correct stock levels are maintained with the shop.
• Cashing up the till.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience of working in a customer facing environment such as retail.
• Experience using EPOS systems
• Retail experience including visual merchandising and store design

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £25,000.00 per year
