Job Purpose

As part of the European regulatory team, you will be responsible for providing expert assessments and timely responses to product regulatory inquiries from internal and external customers for all Element Solutions products produced and/or sold in Europe. You will be the central point of contact for all types of product regulatory issues, acting as the primary interface for and ensuring communication with external entities (including trade associations and government agencies) with respect to product regulatory matters and responsible for ensuring compliance with product regulatory requirements for Element Solution products. The objective of this role is to verify the requirements of product regulatory legislation and regulatory requirements for sustainability of raw materials and products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Preparation of safety data sheets for Element Solutions' products
  • Maintenance of the SDS database (Chemmate)
  • Provide classification and labeling data, including transport classification, for Element Solutions' products
  • Review of product regulatory issues for Europe (including Turkey and the Eurasian Economic Area) for new raw materials and products
  • Review the impact of newly issued substance restrictions and approval requirements related to Element Solutions' products and communicate them to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Assess and respond to product regulatory queries from other departments, customers as well as intercompanies
  • Drafting responses to requests from relevant authorities
  • Ensure product declarations and registrations are submitted to authorities and official bodies in a timely manner
  • Responsible for co-leading Chemmate upgrades with the IT department

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Chemical engineer or bachelor of a scientific or technical discipline
  • Extensive knowledge regarding GHS/CLP, ADR, IMDG, IATA, GGVSEB, REACh
  • Understanding product regulatory requirements from other chemical legislation such as Drug precursors, Dual use, Chemical weapons and PIC
  • Experience in handling SDS authoring systems
  • Knowledge of chemistry and chemical reactions

Skills

  • Experience and ability to understand and interpret legal texts
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of Office software and Lotus Notes
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Sense of urgency/prioritisation/time management
