Job Responsibility:

We have an exciting opportunity in the Biological Services Unit for someone with a passion for office administration looking to use their secretarial and customer service skills to make an impact on medical research. You will be responsible for the secretarial and administrative services within the department including the animal management database (LabTracks) and will provide full administrative support and maintenance of appropriate records for Home Office Personal Licence Courses. You will be the first point of contact in the department and will provide a professional service in answering all enquiries. You must have GCSE grade 5 or above in both English and Maths and have proficient keyboard and IT literacy skills. Excellent customer service skills are also an crutial part of the role. The Biological Services Unit (BSU) is a facility that provides services and support to researchers from the Faculty of Science (FoS) and the Faculty of Health (FoH) in support of their research activities using animal models to understand biology, health and disease. It does this by ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and that all conditions of the Animal Scientific Procedures Act 1986 (ASPA) are adhered to.
