We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Layout Designer to join our proactive and innovative team. Responsibilities: Main Purpose

• Perform self-verification of own tasks and undertake cross checking of other draughtspersons work
• Produce and develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out detail design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained
• Keep up to date in relevant technical areas, develop skills and capabilities to be able to provide more effective services
• Act as a member of a technical team created to accomplish tasks of a specialist nature
• Be cognisant of assigned budgets
• Carry out investigations into operational problems or developments and develop and prepare solutions, individually or as a member of a team

Qualifications:

• The post holder is required to hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification

Essential skills:

• Be proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD system in both a 3D & 2D environment.
• A Autodesk experience essential.
• Experience in FORAN

Experience:

• Experience working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects (preferably naval shipbuilding projects/alternatively new build or major conversion packages).
• Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
