At New Theatre Cardiff we are now recruiting for a Box Office Supervisor to join our team. Shifts are flexible/variable and include evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays. The New Theatre is an exciting, fast-paced environment with a variety of shows, plays, musicals, and comedies. We offer opportunities for advancement with regularly scheduled development training sessions as well as cross-role training. ABOUT THE ROLE We are recruiting a Box Office Supervisor, and the main responsibilities of this role are:
  • Effective use and maintenance of the ticketing database and systems.
  • Manage ticket requests from companies, charities, promotions, and membership schemes.
  • Excellent customer service including dealing with enquiries, booking tickets and maximising sales.
  • Communicating with customers regarding group payments, show cancellations and rescheduling.
  • Promoting and achieving membership levels.
  • Supervising staff and assisting with staff training.
  • Covering email enquiries on the Manager's days off.
  • Collaborating with all New Theatre staff to achieve company goals and targets.
  • Working in line with GDPR, legislation and company policies and procedures.

  • Passion for theatre/live entertainment.
  • An exceptional eye for detail for written, numeric and verbal communication.

  • Understanding of health and safety.
  • Ability to be flexible to the business needs and work calmly under pressure.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience in working in a theatre or entertainment venue.
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems.
  • Experience in a customer facing role which includes dealing with criticism and complaints.
  • Experience with team leadership and staff training.
