An exciting and rare opportunity has now arisen for someone who is passionate about the environment and sustainability to join our Global Indirect Tax team as an Environmental Taxes Manager. Accountabilities:
In this role, you will be supporting the Head of ESG Tax in the development, implementation, and delivery of AstraZeneca's global environmental tax compliance and risk management strategy to deliver sustainable value. You will proactively partner with the business to identify grants, incentives and other applicable tax reliefs and credits that support the decision making of large sustainability led capital and operational projects. You will also assist AstraZeneca in meeting its global environmental tax compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in customs and global trade compliance experience (HMRC, Professional Practice, or another large multinational organization).
Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental tax compliance and/or advisory experience in relation to Plastic Taxes, Carbon Taxes (CBAM) and/or Climate Change Levy (HMRC, Professional Practice or another large multi-national organisation).
Ability to analyse complex issues from a range of perspectives, form considered judgments around the actions to be taken, and support on those actions.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and collaboration skills.
Ability and flexibility to work well under tight deadlines.
High degree of attention to detail.
Ability to adjust priorities and manage time appropriately in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple teams both within the UK and overseas.
Collaborative team player with the ability to foster good working relationships with external advisors and tax authorities.
