Role Overview

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will represent the finance function on a number of transformation projects including the implementation of a new finance system and implementation of a digital solution to manage petty cash and monies for people we support.

  • A finance subject matter expert who can work closely with project managers and other functional representatives (e.g. IT team and Operations team) to ensure key finance projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Work closely with the Group Finance Director to effectively land changes in the function, working with regional finance teams across Chesterfield, Surrey and Swansea.

Role Responsibilities

Transformation lead for finance leading multiple finance projects including most significantly the scoping and implementation of a new finance system.

Role in relation to the new finance system to include but not limited to:

  • Detailed scoping of requirements of new system to ensure solution selected is fit for purpose.
  • Assessing current disparate processes across the group and working with finance team to design ‘to be' processes to ensure consistent and efficient ways of working in new system.
  • Scope work required in finance team to prepare for implementation of new system including identifying new processes required (e.g. establishment of master data process)
  • Member of the project team working closely with the project manager and IT colleagues to ensure the project is fully scoped, has a clear timeline and remains on track.
  • Impact assessment of system change for finance teams and other functions across the group, identifying risks and mitigating actions.
  • Identify other impacts as a result of the finance system change (e.g. updates to group policies required) and ensure plan in place to deliver these changes.
  • Plan & execute communications with all key stakeholders including existing finance teams to ensure project objectives, timeline and impacts are fully understood.
  • Build relationships with all teams across the finance function and leverage these to ensure there is strong engagement in the new solution and all team members are bought in to the change.
  • Ensure there are regular updates for all stakeholders on project progress including any challenges and issues and plans to address these
  • Map chart of accounts and detailed system set up to ensure best use of system for multi-site reporting.
  • Ensure key stakeholders are kept up to date with project progress (e.g. Group Finance Director) and are aware of any issues arising from the project.

In addition to the finance system implementation, be the finance subject matter expert and key point of contact, co-ordinating requirements and managing key stakeholders for other projects including:

  • Implementation of a digital solution for management of petty cash and monies of people we support.
  • Implementation of Amazon for business purchasing for services
  • Implementation to changes in VAT application to customer billing

Main Skills & Experience for this role:

Essential

  • Experience of implementing new finance systems within multi-site organisations
  • Experienced in project work, organised and thorough and able to hold others to account to deliver to agreed timeline
  • Strong communicator, able to quickly build strong relationships and trust with remote teams
  • Leader of change with successful track record
  • Detailed knowledge at transactional level of all major finance processes (sales order to cash, purchase to pay, record to report etc
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)

Desirable

  • Prior experience of working in a healthcare organisation or a similar industry
  • Experience of implementing Sage Intaact or similar software for mid-sized organisations
