The IT Security Analyst will report to the IT Security Manager, who is a member of the IT management team, led by the Head of IT.
The IT Security Analyst role will become part of the IT Security team that supports IT and the TPE business in establishing and enhancing the security baseline, providing several critical business cybersecurity services.
You need to:
- At a high level, support the Head of IT, IT Security Manager and team, and other IT colleagues in the continual improvement of cybersecurity in TPE to protect, detect, identify, respond, and recover from potential or actual cybersecurity threats and incidents.
- Support TPE in the development, maintenance, enforcement and improvement of cybersecurity policies, standards, processes, and procedures, and ensure these meet necessary standards and regulations, including UK NIS Regulations 2018 and any future regulations as they apply.
- Monitor, review and configure cybersecurity control systems, including internal and external vulnerability scanning and management systems. These systems include (but are not limited to) SIEM tools, scanning tools, mail and web protection systems, and intruder detection/prevention systems.
- Identify and report (via the IT Service Desk) vulnerabilities, ensure the prompt delivery of patches or mitigations to maintain cybersecurity protection within TPE.
- Create and present reports at weekly and monthly management meetings to immediate IT colleagues and/or senior management as appropriate, demonstrating company security posture and key issues, presenting information in clear and concise manner.
- Raise and respond to cybersecurity incidents and requests, working with the IT Service Desk and helpdesk system to ensure items are promptly and correctly processed, following security processes and where applicable in line with specific incident response plans (IRP).
- Attend IT Security meetings, including weekly vulnerability meeting, IT Security Committee meetings, presenting as and when required.
- Review, identify risks and/or recommend improvements to suppliers, systems, software, services, risks, and other documents from a cybersecurity perspective.
- Create or update training, awareness, education, guidance, or instruction documentation as required.
- Identify, recommend, or review communications or communications channels that help improve the cybersecurity culture within TPE.
You will have:
- 5+ years working in IT.
- Demonstrable experience working with cybersecurity tools/systems.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity concepts.
- Ability to communicate with people who have a variable level of understanding in IT/cybersecurity.
- Ability to successfully achieve UK Security vetting.
You will ideally have:
- Knowledge of ITIL
- Knowledge of and/or experience of operating within ISO 27001
- Experience of operating to other security regulations and/or standards
- IT related qualification
- Cybersecurity qualification, e.g., CISMP
- Cloud security management experience
