Detailed job description and main responsibilities

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

To work closely within the Immunology team to deliver an integrated service to patients with PID and SID, including multi-disciplinary input from respiratory medicine, infectious diseases, haematology, gastroenterology, hepatology and dermatology. This will include participation in all of the Immunology Department's clinical activities, including outpatient clinics, day ward and providing advice to treating physicians and to patients.

  • To maintain the highest clinical standards.
  • Principles of Clinical Governance must be an integral part of your clinical practice.
  • To provide clear and concise documentation.
  • To liaise with colleagues from other hospitals and specialties whose input may be needed for your patients.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PATIENTS

  • To provide clinical care for patients of the Immunology Department under consultant supervision.
  • To provide the highest standard of care to patients through evidence based practice and department protocols.
  • To contribute to developing and/or maintaining an environment that is patient centred and promotes excellent clinical care.
  • To help provide a holistic and patient centred service
  • To report clinical incidents and near misses in accordance withTrust policy and standards of practice.
  • To maintain agreed Trust and departmental standards of care.
  • To promote good infection control practices.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR POLICY AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

  • To participate in department meetings, audit and governance.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR FINANCIAL AND PHYSICAL RESOURCES

  • The post-holder has no direct responsibility for budgets or physical resources.

  • To comply with all trust policies concerning confidentiality and data protection.
