Location:Queen Elizabeth University Hospital/Inverclyde Royal Hospital

You will be part of the Hospital Palliative Care Teams in both Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) and Inverclyde Royal Hospital (IRH). The sessional split will be QEUH 6.5 sessions, IRH 3.5 sessions. Both teams are aligned within the same NHSGGC senior management team structure. This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary specialist palliative care teams providing hospital palliative care in South Glasgow and Inverclyde.

The post is based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) you will work with 4 other Consultants in Palliative Medicine, Specialty Doctor, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Specialist Pharmacist to provide a comprehensive palliative care service and support the development of this innovative service. There is scope for the successful applicant to develop specialist interests given the fact that the QEUH hosts a number of tertiary and regional services and has an active programme of undergraduate and postgraduate education.

The successful candidate will also join the Hospital Palliative Care Team based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital where they will provide Palliative Medicine leadership working alongside 2 Clinical Nurse Specialists in Palliative Care.

The post holder will join the South Glasgow Palliative Medicine Consultant oncall rota. The rota is a 1:6, non-resident, 2nd on rota, providing Consultant support to the 1st oncall for Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, Queen Elizabeth University and New Victoria Ambulatory Care Hospitals.

Applicants must have full GMC registration and a licence to Practice. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of Interview. Non UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
