As the Head of Operational Finance & Reporting you will be an integral member of the Senior Finance Leadership Team, leading the Financial Accounts and Finance Operations teams. This pivotal role will play a essential part in shaping the financial future of our firm.

What you'll be doing

As the Head of Operational Finance & Reporting, you will be a motivational leader, inspiring others through your actions and upholding the highest standards, ensuring that our commercial edge is matched by genuine care. It will be part of your role to challenge the norm, continually looking forward to drive performance, showing strategic, project and leadership skills to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Take a collaborative approach and using your expert skills you will support the firm and all its people - from partners to team members - to grow capacity and capability by building strong teams.

  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead financial reporting and operations teams, ensuring timely delivery of budgets, forecasts, accounts, and audits. Develop teams and processes, coaching and mentoring individuals to foster collaboration and excellence.
  • Strategic Contribution: Contribute to the finance department strategy, driving improvement projects and providing insights for strategic decision-making and planning.

  • Financial Control & Compliance: Oversee compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations. Support the financial control environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Process Improvement: Implement best practices and streamline processes to enhance performance and productivity. Drive positive change and continuous improvement within the finance teams.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with various stakeholders to promote the finance department and its initiatives, ensuring alignment and support for strategic goals.

What we need from you

  • A qualified accountant and team leader who can collaborate, communicate and influence effectively across the firm.
  • A self-motivated and professional individual who can manage and deliver high-quality work, identify solutions and opportunities, and negotiate with confidence.
  • A skilled analyst who can produce consolidated financial statements, oversee the annual audit process, and apply relevant financial and regulatory knowledge.
  • A proficient user of Excel and preferably Aderant Expert, with experience in the professional services sector.
  • A role model who supports and enhances the firm's culture and values.
