Job Responsibility:
As a member of the Barclays Compliance Assurance Data Analytics team you will be supporting review teams with the development of test objectives and execution of Compliance Assurance reviews using data analytics techniques. You will contribute to the development of business risk management capability and culture by constructively challenging its on-going effectiveness and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. You will also support the development of the Compliance Assurance Data Analytics team and the adoption of new data analysis techniques, tools and approaches.
Key Accountabilities
- Support with the planning/scoping, execution and reporting of Assurance tests and reviews utilising data analytics testing techniques. Utilise logic and analytical skills in reviews while providing assurance and identifying issues. In partnership with other areas of Compliance, investigate issues (actual or perceived).
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on the remediation of control weaknesses and outcome risks by participating in discussions and using technical knowledge so these can be remediated effectively. Propose action plans to address root causes of issues identified in reviews.
- Support the realisation of the Compliance Assurance Data Analytics team strategy and initiatives; engage and collaborate with Compliance colleagues in the development and implementation of strategic systems and processes to improve ways of working.
- Support the team to build capability to deliver assurance reviews; share good practice with colleagues on executing assurance work.
- Complete other duties at the discretion of the head of Compliance Assurance Data Analytics and senior management.

Purpose of the role
To provide assurance over the effectiveness of Compliance Risk Management across the bank.
Accountabilities
- Development and refresh of the Compliance Assurance Annual Plan, ensuring that the Annual Plan focuses on areas of highest risk and value in relation to Compliance Risk.
- Delivery of risk-based assurance activity to validate the effectiveness of controls and processes designed to mitigate Compliance Risk.
- Identification of potential risks associated with non-compliance or control weaknesses in relation to Compliance Risk.
- Verbal and written communication of Compliance Assurance reports and issues to enhance the effectiveness of Compliance Risk management and oversight.
- Build, development and maintenance of effective relationships between Compliance Assurance and stakeholders across the three lines of defence.
- Proactive adoption of Data Analytics capabilities to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and coverage of Assurance work.
- Continued focus on the Barclays Mindset and Consistently Excellent to enhance the Assurance that we deliver, how it is delivered and the culture within the bank.
