About the role Applications are welcomed for an Events and Administration Officer to join the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (RISJ). The Events and Administration Officer will take the lead in managing the preparation, logistics, bookings and on-site support for the Institute's Leadership Programme events and selected larger events such as the annual Memorial Lecture. They will act as office manager, proactively monitoring and ordering supplies and equipment, and ensuring external service providers are supervised and managed effectively. The Events and Administration Officer will act as first point of contact for staff and visitors from inside and outside the University and will also manage the Institute calendar, using initiative to make considered judgements when juggling the demands placed on the schedule and alerting colleagues to any possible timetable clashes. The position is fixed-term until 31st December 2026 and is offered on a full-time basis (36.5 hours per week) starting as soon as possible. About you You will have a good general level of education (including Mathematics and English to GCSE B, or equivalent standard). Alongside this, you will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to use initiative to prioritise independently a range of tasks plus communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to provide accurate and coherent information when required.
