Job Summary:

In this role, you will support and ensure the successful delivery and management of single or multiple service projects while meeting scope, quality, time, and cost constraints. You will work closely with a Senior Project Manager and collaborate with various teams to achieve business value and exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager to lead, oversee, and ensure the successful implementation, delivery, and management of customer projects within their network.
  • Achieve service target margins, ensure accurate revenue recognition, meet committed schedules and deliverables, and ensure projects meet customer expectations for quality and service.
  • Analyze project proposals to determine the time frame, funding limitations, and appropriate processes.
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, activities, and tasks.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle.
  • Implement project communication plans.
  • Document and communicate project status, obstacles, and resolutions to management.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
  • Support pre-sales activities, providing project management expertise, and contributing to customer proposals and RFP responses as required.
  • Interacted across Ciena teams and customer operations teams, as well as sales, bid management, service delivery groups, and finance, to ensure project deliverables and financial targets were met.
  • Contribute to process management optimization efforts associated with project management.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Up to 12 months of related project management work experience strongly preferred.
  • Prince2/PMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization, demonstrating strong influencing and collaborative skills across multiple teams.
