Job Responsibility:
Coordinating and linking key staff to support their local work, fostering a culture where family-integrated care is embedded in everyday practice so that parents and families are at the heart of and fully involved in their babys care, empowering parents to be partners in the care team. The role will also include assisting with the improvement of the accommodation, facilities and support available to parents and families during their babys inpatient episodes. This will include maximising the use of available funding for these purposes through feedback analysis. This will also help to standardise neonatal services across the Network as well as helping support parents in preparation of transfer, transition to home, neonatal outreach, transitional care and/or paediatric services. Coordinating and facilitating ways in which key staff and parents work together as equals, promoting and valuing participation. Listening to and seeking out the voices of parents and families using neonatal services. Enabling all service users, including hard to reach communities, to have a voice. The ODNs and LMNSs are established to deliver whole system work programmes which are based on the NHS Long Term Plan and the Neonatal Critical Care Transformation Review. They work with the National Clinical Reference Group Chairs, Regional Programme of Care Leads, NHS England Area Teams, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Health Education England and Public Health England to deliver programmes of work to achieve better outcomes for each patient group.
