Job Responsibility:

Applications are invited from suitable candidates to provide a range of administrative and reception services to the Physiotherapy Service at Fairfield General Hospital. You will be part of a team of administrative staff with responsibility to provide general administrative support to the Out-patient Physiotherapy Service. You will at times be acting as first point of contact to our services therefore you should have excellent communication and customer care skills. You should also be committed to team working; adaptable to the needs of the service; and have the ability to remain calm under pressure. You must have substantial administrative experience including a good knowledge of software programs/IT systems such as Excel, Word and Outlook; be able to work on your initiative and within a busy team environment. Experience of NHS systems and processes is desirable. To greet and receive patients and visitors, providing a welcoming environment. To operate a patient booking system, offering patients a choice of appointments. To process referrals, input patient details into computerised systems and prepare notes for clinics. To deal with patient queries by telephone and in person. To file and archive case notes. To monitor stocks of stationary and office supplies. To open, sort and distribute mail including relevant email information and telephone messages. You will be expected to be flexible in terms of working patterns (including weekends, bank holidays and extra hours if necessary). The Administrative Team ensures the provision of a range of administrative and clerical services to the Physiotherapy service: To receive patients attending for treatment at the Physiotherapy department reception and rebook as required. To be responsible for all delegated administrative aspects of patient care through the system from referral to discharge. To operate a patient booking system at a designated department/clinic offering patients a choice of appointments based on location, waiting times, appropriateness, and availability of relevant clinician.
