Amazon is seeking a Data Analyst with experience in tax and technology. In this job you will be working closely with our indirect tax compliance customers and technology partners. You will be supporting complex data solutions that underpin the reporting for Amazon indirect tax. As a Data Analyst, you will be expected to have solid data management experience, strong data querying skills and understanding of tax and accounting principles to support indirect tax compliance teams across the globe. Key job responsibilities
  • Perform hands on detailed data research and analysis of a large financial data set; investigate, troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues
  • Work with customer teams to identify improvements in efficiency and controllership for their current data processes; teach them how to utilize the designed reporting and functionality in their processes.
  • Define business requirements for technical development based on analysis of data set
  • Integrate new data sources into existing data warehouse
  • Prepare various deliverables to support financial reporting, audit, issue analysis by using Excel, SQL, Python, Oracle Business Intelligence, and other tools
  • Build and maintain relationships with key technology providers, as well as, other technical teams
  • Identify potential process gaps and systematic pain points; lead and implement process improvements
  • Identify technological and operational problems and escalate them to the appropriate resource before they become project-threatening
  • Explain financial/technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience and translate business objectives into actionable analyses.
