You will be responsible for
  • I partner functional leadership teams across all work levels including Exec member and relevant People Business Partner to deliver an excellent talent offer for colleagues.
  • I facilitate the talent planning and succession planning cycle including calibrating potential: I calibrate potential twice per year and ensure JDI is used to inform HiPo population, and succession planning is formally reviewed once a year ensuring senior roles and high risk roles have successors.
  • I facilitate the performance cycle aligned to Your Contribution, providing challenge, agitation and a non bias view; calibration is fair and consistent, and builds a view of 'strong current performance' to inform the high potential pipeline.
  • I accelerate the development of diverse talent (including early careers) to deliver against our DE&I aspirations, supporting line managers in preparing colleagues for bigger, broader roles: I activity support the Diverse talent communities, equipping managers by exception and provide structured 1 on 1 making sense support to colleagues twice per year.
  • I support functions in developing targeted talent plans that provide colleagues with an opportunity to get on for all: Provide technical expertise to functions, building out and course correcting local talent plans using survey results and other channels of feedback.
  • I support managers and leaders in calibrating Performance through Your Contribution and encourage a continuous feedback environment.
  • I provide ad-hoc support for Line Managers as and when needed, helping managers make sense of the talent tools and processes; Line Managers are equipped to have great career conversations with colleagues and colleagues feel and see Tesco as a place to get on for all.
  • I work closely with the Group Talent team to inform blueprint design to ensure brilliant delivery of talent processes as well as championing internal talent movement across functions and business units.
