The post-holder applies specialist educational knowledge and skill evidence-based knowledge, educational and teaching skills to support, plan, deliver and evaluate Family Integrated Care within the neonatal service of Child Health. The post holder is expected to act as an advisor who can support and aid the development of others, encouraging their participation with Family Integrated care in the Neonatal Unit; this will include sharing knowledge and skill to promote best practice amongst staff. The post holder will work collaboratively with the multi-professional team caring for neonates acting as a source of clinical expertise to less experienced staff, being a credible role model in the provision of direct patient care, demonstrating supervision skills to promote a high standard of Family care. The post holder will use their clinical expertise and knowledge to contribute towards the governance of Child Health through participation in audit. Training staff to deliver Family Integrated care and support to families. Foundation training for staff in developmentally appropriate direct patient care. Participate in developmental care ward rounds and liaison with the MDT around developmentally supportive care. Use of educational skills to provide evidence-based clinical education for a range of staff (including non-registered, pre and post registered health care professionals) within a m ulti-professional team Act as the Trust link for the TV & Wessex Regional Neonatal Family Integrated care forum, and liaison with the Network Parent Engagement Lead. Act as role model to support the Family Integrated care development of less experienced staff from all relevant disciplines Provide evidence for the use education, training, maintenance of records and participation in governance activities to support Clinical Managers (this term includes the Lead Educator) meet governance requirements for the Trust Maintain development of personal knowledge, clinical skill, and experience to demonstrate clinical credibility Recognise limits to personal confidence and competence to act and address these in accordance with NMC Code/standards and Trust policy e.g., through agreed personal development plan Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient.
