Job Responsibility:

Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and motivated Microbiology Team Leader to oversee and manage microbiology laboratory operations. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, maintain quality assurance, and lead a team of microbiologists in conducting microbial testing, research, and validation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the microbiology team, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to SOPs.
  • perform microbiological testing, including sterility testing, environmental monitoring, and microbial identification.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, ISO, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, validate, and implement microbiological methods and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support quality control, product development, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain laboratory records, analyse data, and prepare reports for regulatory submissions.
  • Train and mentor team members, ensuring continuous professional development.
  • Ensure the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Investigate microbiological OOS, deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in microbiology.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's/Master's/Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably in the pharmaceutical, food, or biotechnology industry.
  • Strong knowledge of microbiological testing methods, contamination control, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Experience in leading a team, with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in laboratory documentation, data interpretation, and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with sterility assurance, validation studies, and risk assessments.
  • Certification in microbiology or quality assurance.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced microbiological techniques and instrumentation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £29,000.00-£33,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
