Tuition Extra Recruitment and Onboarding Administrator
8:30am – 5:30pm with 1 hr for lunch (8hr day)
Part-time (3 days), Permanent, On site – Roper Road, Canterbury, Term time only – 42/52 weeks per year pro rata
Salary – £26,000 – pro-rata

Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Recruitment and Onboarding Administrator to lead the end-to-end hiring process for tutors, with a strong focus on SEN provision. This role involves developing job descriptions, advertising roles across various platforms, managing applications and interviews, overseeing background screening and compliance, and working with HR to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new tutors.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Advertising
· Create and maintain job descriptions for tutor roles, ensuring clarity and alignment with SEN requirements.
· Advertise vacancies on appropriate job boards, social media, and other recruitment channels.
Application & Interview Management
· Review applications, shortlist candidates, and coordinate interview schedules.
· Conduct initial candidate screening to assess suitability for SEN tutoring roles.
· Manage the interview process, liaising with the Head of Tuition Service and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
Compliance & Background Screening
· Oversee reference checks, ensuring thorough vetting of all candidates.
· Manage DBS checks and applications, ensuring compliance with safeguarding requirements.
· Work closely with HR to ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met before employment begins.
Onboarding & Candidate Support
· Working with HR to coordinate and manage the onboarding process from start to finish.
· Ensure new tutors are fully integrated into existing systems and processes.
· Facilitate communication between new tutors and key staff within Tuition Extra.
· Provide guidance and support to new tutors to ensure they understand SEN education provision in an independent setting.
Collaboration & Communication
· Work closely with HR to support the candidate offer process.
· Maintain clear and effective communication with all candidates throughout the recruitment and onboarding journey.
· Collaborate with internal teams, such as the Referrals Department to ensure new tutors are successfully placed and supported.
Skills & Experience Desired
· Proven experience in recruitment and onboarding, preferably within the education sector.
· Strong understanding of SEN education and the requirements for tutors in an independent setting.
· Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple recruitment campaigns simultaneously.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with candidates and internal teams.
· Familiarity with compliance requirements, including DBS checks and safeguarding protocols.
· Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Training & Development
· In liaison with line manager, setting personal targets and take responsibility for own continuous professional development.
