Kicks and Tricks Ltd are looking to employ a professional, enthusiastic and inspiring Wraparound Lead who is passionate about working with children to deliver exciting, innovative and unique activities to primary school aged children, term-time only. The successful candidate can look forward to delivering outstanding and fun sports activities, arts & crafts, Early Years play and more.

These sessions could consist of:

  • Lead and oversee all activities at the club, ensuring alignment with Activity Operating Procedures (AOPs) and inspiring the team to provide a high-quality programme of activities that engages and motivates children.
  • Coordinate the safe, appropriate, and timely set-up and pack-up of activities at club, ensuring all procedures set out by Kicks and Tricks are followed by the team to maintain high standards of safety and efficiency.
  • Oversee the storage, organisation, and maintenance of equipment, ensuring resources are well cared for, organised, and available for use, while supporting all staff in managing these responsibilities.
  • Supervise and support the preparation of food, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are met in all facilities and that the team maintains a safe and hygienic environment at all times.
  • Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children at the club, acting as the designated safeguarding lead to handle concerns swiftly and appropriately, in line with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Foster a welcoming, communicative, and professional atmosphere among staff, children, parents, carers, teachers, and other stakeholders, building trust and ensuring a positive experience for everyone involved.
  • Identify and respond to individual needs or challenges among children, working with all staff in offering appropriate support to ensure every child has an engaging and enjoyable experience at the club.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities and operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance the overall quality of the programme.

  • 18 years or older and have the right to work in the UK.
  • Confident in leading and motivating a team.
  • Enthusiastic, organised, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Have a fun and approachable manner with children and young people.
  • Professional demeanour, able to work under pressure, and prioritise safety at all times.

Sports Coach Job Overview:

  • Part-time which could develop into full-time
  • Starting wage: £7.49 - £15 an hour (Depending on experience, qualifications and the type of session you will be coaching).
  • Location - Stowmarket (central), Ipswich and Woodbridge
  • Full CPD provided to further develop possible coaching knowledge.

Our ideal candidate would ideally have at least one of the following qualifications or, be able to provide relevant experience or/and willing to work towards them.

  • A Level or BTEC Grade C or, above in a sport and/or education related course or working towards.
  • University Degree an a related course or working towards.
  • Childcare related qualification or training
  • 1st 4Sport Coaching Qualifications or willing to undertake them.
  • Specialist experience in a specific sport - gymnastics or dance for example.

Addition requirements.

  • Must have full, clean driving license or working towards.
  • Willingness to apply for Fully Enhanced DBS.
  • Child Safeguarding certificate (training can be provided).
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate (training can be provided).
  • Prevent Certificate (training can be provided).
  • FGM Certificate (training can be provided).
  • Level 2 Food & Hygiene certificate (training can be provided).

Personal characteristic & attributes

  • A passion for sport and physical wellbeing.
  • A passion for working with children.
  • Some knowledge of various sports.
  • Display professionalism and patience when working with children.
  • Show resilience when faced with difficult situations or pressurised situations.
  • Understand your professional responsibilities as a role model when working with children in a school environment.
  • Understand the Government needs and requirements of Wraparound Care.
