Role overview An RBH Account Executive is a balancer. Providing an essential connection - being a client person and an RBH person, because this role sits invaluably between our clients and our internal departments. The core of the role lies in the interpreting of client needs and objectives and the fine-tuning of projects to meet them. In practice, this involves helping in the management of campaigns and projects from the initial client challenge through to concepts, delivery and results. Main responsibilities
  • Take verbal and written instructions from the client and accurately communicate them to each account team and internal team, updating systems and records as required
  • Prepare and deliver clear informative briefs to creative and project management teams, ensuring all information is accurate and all necessary supporting materials are provided
  • Gather background information to assist creative teams, social teams and digital teams with idea generation, e.g. using agency research tools, assessing competitive landscapes, relevant articles etc.
  • Present and sell-in proposals and creative work effectively, whether through written or verbal presentation and feedback to internal teams
  • Effectively traffic the progress of projects through the Agency, updating schedules and debriefing account teams accordingly in a timely and concise manner, to ensure all tasks are completed within agreed timeframes.
  • Effective daily liaison with all relevant agency departments (creative, design, artwork, production, digital, social, PR and support services)
  • Bring potential challenges or delays with the progression of projects to the timely attention of the senior account team, putting forward proactive solutions and assisting with resolution
  • Provide support for client and internal meetings - booking meeting rooms, preparing agendas and refreshments, checking equipment, welcoming clients and attending to their needs, preparing materials/visuals required, taking comprehensive notes, completing and circulating contact reports within 48 hours of the meeting/contact taking place
  • Thoroughly copy check all external communications, creative, artwork and test links as well as RBH communications such as proposals, quotes, production schedules, briefs, reports,
  • invoices and other documents, ensuring they are presented on the correct RBH documenttemplates, before sending to clients
  • Provide general administrative support across client accounts - organising internal meetings, keeping filing systems and records up to date (including but not limited to project records and job progression reports)
  • Liaise with media agencies and publishers to ensure collateral is supplied to required specification, on time and on budget
  • Keep abreast of developments in the industries occupied by your clients together with developments in communications industry specifically and, more generally, the business world, current affairs, social trends and popular culture
  • Attend and participate in Agency meetings, (e.g. Work In Progress, Account Handler meetings)

  • Complete allocated project tasks on time and within budget
  • Closely monitor job/project time, costs and income against estimates ensuring jobs are delivered within budget. Where time and costs arise outside original estimates ensure these are appropriately passed on to the client through accurate re-quotes that optimisemargin/profitability
  • Promptly draft client invoices as required for review by the Account Director
  • Attend and positively contribute to weekly job progression meetings ensuring all job progression/WIP reports and financial updates are up to date and circulated to attendees
  • Highlight possible opportunities for business development for the mutual benefit of your clients and RBH
  • Understand and adhere to RBH values and processes
  • Work within project teams for Business Development to develop new client opportunities, as required
  • Accurately record timesheets
  • Undertake any such other duties that RBH may reasonably require
Entry requirements Maths and English GCSE at Grade C/4 or above. Training to be provided Advertising & Media Executive Level 3 Standard - An advertising and media executive will help with the day to day progress of the whole advertising process, from receiving the brief from the marketing team, including objectives, budget and timescales, through to the measurement of how effective the advertisement has been. In their daily work, they will interact with many other people, processes and systems. (For example the client, 3rd party suppliers, the broad team at the agency.) They help campaigns move forward, coping with inevitable setbacks and changes in direction (some at the last minute), whilst showing collaboration and maintaining relationships with all. Usually, they report to an Account or Media Manager. They usually specialise in one of two parts of the advertising process: the first is the process of producing the advertisement (creative); the second is the process of distributing the advertisement (media). Apprentices must therefore complete the core apprenticeship and one of these options.
