Finance Business Partner Manager Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking. We are due to move our Finance team to Green Park, Reading towards the end of 2025 and would require attendance up to 3 days per week. Package: Salary range £46,220 up to 50,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience) Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Let us introduce the role As a Finance Business Partner Manager here at AWE, you will be supporting strategic planning through financial analysis and insights to help guide business decisions. You will monitor and evaluate business performance against financial targets, ensuring we stay on track. Your budgeting and forecasting skills will help us predict future financial trends to optimise resource allocation. Your expertise on managing costs will help us to identify areas to increase efficiency and implement changes. Your ability to build relationships will help you to communicate financial information and insights to stakeholders, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned with the company's financial goals. A typical day could include:
  • Motivating and task managing a team
  • Building effective relationships with Internal & External budget holders
  • Driving collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Supporting financial decision-making and budget process
  • Providing insightful financial analysis to business unit management
  • Assisting in the preparation of the operating budget
  • Managing and achieving financial goals and objectives
  • Developing and nurturing financial and accounting procedures
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
We do need you to have the following:
  • CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent certification (qualified or studying)
  • Experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively
  • Experience in coaching and developing teams is KEY!

  • Operating in a similar or related role Ideally: MOD/DEFENCE/ NUCLEAR/ REGULATED - helpful but not a deal breaker!
