The Gateshead Safeguarding Adults Board (GSAB) and Gateshead Safeguarding Children's Partnership (GSCP) are passionate about safeguarding and providing support to professionals, practitioners and volunteers working with adults and children across Gateshead.
Following the promotion of the current postholder, we wish to recruit an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our team as the Safeguarding Business Unit Assistant. This is a busy post requiring the post-holder to work in a split role between the GSAB and the GSCP. - Event Organisation: Provide excellent administrative support for conferences, workshops, board development days, and training events.
- Customer Service Champion: Deliver exceptional service to service users, the public, and external organizations via various communication channels.
- Data Input: Maintain and update information systems to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Innovative Support: Assist in implementing and improving administrative systems and procedures to enhance service delivery.
- Team Player: Support the GSCP and GSAB Business Managers with various tasks and responsibilities as well as supporting the Learning and Development Officer in ensuring the safeguarding learning offer is accessible and acting as a point of contact for questions and queries relating to the safeguarding training.
What We Need from You:
- Experienced Professional: Background in business administration, with the ability to produce accurate and concise minutes for high-level meetings.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other computer packages. Support in the updating of the GSAB and GSCP websites and the unit's social media platforms.

- Organisational Pro: Strong organisational skills, capable of prioritising workload and meeting deadlines.
- Communication Expert: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Calm Under Pressure: Professionalism in handling sensitive situations
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent, or willing to work towards.

- Great Transport Links: Benefit from reliable public transport, discounted Annual Pass, Co-wheel pool cars, and the Cycle to Work scheme.
- Generous Leave: Enjoy a generous annual leave package with the option to purchase up to 10 extra days.
- Flexibility: Access to the flexi scheme for a better work-life balance.
- Pension Scheme: Membership in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
- Exclusive Discounts: Reduced rate membership for GO Gateshead Leisure Services, Health Shield healthcare plan, and discounts with O2, Virgin Media, and Dell.
