Job Responsibility:

AstralPool UK Ltd are looking for a Junior Pool Designer to join their dynamic team.

In the role of Junior Pool Designer, you will assist in the conceptualization, drafting and development of residential and commercial swimming pool and plant room designs. You will be working closely with the Technical Director, engineers and clients to bring innovative and functional aquatic environments to life.

AstralPool is one of the most recognised, respected, trusted and prominent distributors and manufacturers of all pool-related products in the UK pool market space, and are based in Fareham, Portsmouth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, tracking and reporting changes to estimates and supporting the necessary preparations involved.

The job includes:

  • Assisting in the design and drafting of swimming pools using CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD and Revit)
  • Supporting the development of 2D and 3D renderings and presentations for clients
  • Conducting site visits and surveys to gather measurements and assess environmental factors
  • Researching materials, finishes and equipment suitable for pool construction
  • Preparing documentation for permits and regulatory compliance
  • Communicating with clients to understand their vision and provide design input
  • Staying updated on industry trends, technologies, and sustainability practices
  • Working alongside the Technical Director managing design budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints
  • Working alongside the Technical Director identifying and mitigating risks associated with design projects

What will you bring to the role?

  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit or similar
  • Strong visual and spatial awareness with an eye for detail
  • Basic understanding of construction methods and materials
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

What experience would the ideal candidate have?

  • Previous experience of working in the Swimming Pool industry would be desirable but not essential
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Design, Engineering, Architecture or a related field
  • Knowledge of pool hydraulics, lighting and filtration systems would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations
  • Experience with 3D modelling and rendering software.
