Job Responsibility:

The Specialist Occupational Therapist (OT) functions as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to provide a seamless service to a group of patients. The OT will develop, implement, and evaluate the Merton Enhanced Home-Based Rehabilitation Team (MEHBRT) , ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of timely care within the trust The Specialist Occupational Therapist (OT) functions as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to provide a seamless service to a group of patients. The OT will develop, implement, and evaluate the Merton Enhanced Home-Based Rehabilitation Team (MEHBRT), ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of timely care within the trust. The OT will clinically assess referrals from hospitals for patients who are ready to be discharged but have ongoing health or social care needs. The OT will provide local clinical leadership and advice to Physiotherapists, Rehabilitation Support Worker and the wider MDT within the CSU, while also being responsible for the education and supervision of rehabilitation support workers, and MDT students. The OT will be responsible for the line management and supervision of junior staff within the service. The OT will manage their own caseload, including complex cases and request support from Senior members if needed. The OT will lead/support the team in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintaining the quality of the service.
