About the role
The University of Manchester is seeking a Teaching and Learning Officer (Student Communications) to join our Education Development Team, which sits within Student and Academic Services. Education Development is responsible for a range of high-profile University of Manchester initiatives, including the University College for Interdisciplinary Learning and the Ethical Grand Challenges Programme. This 12 month fixed term post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and success of these, and other initiatives, by engaging students and staff with UCIL and EGC in particular, and supporting communications and engagement across the whole of Student and Academic Services.
Key responsibilities include:
- leading on the development and delivery of a student communications and engagement strategy designed to maximise student participation and engagement.
- responsibility for the creation of multi-media promotional materials
- design and management outreach activities with students
- gathering and evaluation of student feedback
We are looking for a creative self-starter, who is willing and able to take the initiative. The successful applicant will also need to be an excellent team player, who enjoys working collaboratively and is capable of inspiring and motivating others.
In addition the successful applicant should possess:
- extensive experience in the area of student engagement, marketing and communications
- excellent verbal communication skills and significant experience of copywriting in order to deliver high-quality written communications for digital and print platforms across multiple channels
- a high level of computer and digital media literacy and the ability to use design software such as Adobe
- very good planning and organisational skills
