Graduate Quantity Surveyor Role - Develop Your Career in Infrastructure Projects

  • Assist with the preparation of accurate cost estimates and budgets for Mechanical and Electrical projects.
  • Support in the analysis of tender documents, project drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Help maintain and update rate cards in line with market trends and company pricing strategies.
  • Contribute to the drafting of client offer letters and tender submissions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (design, procurement, delivery) to compile essential data for commercial activities.
  • Review supplier and subcontractor quotations to verify value and compliance.
  • Provide commercial support during post-tender negotiations and project handovers.
  • Assist in tracking and analysing historical cost data for continuous improvement of future bids.
  • Implement Quantity Surveying principles to enhance commercial accuracy and minimise financial risk.

Required Skills and Qualifications - Entry-Level Quantity Surveying Careers

  • Recently completed or soon to complete a Quantity Surveying degree or a related qualification (e.g., RICS, HNC/HND considered).
  • Keen interest in the utilities, construction, mechanical and electrical sectors.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • IT literacy, especially with Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is advantageous but not essential.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • Understanding, or an interest in developing knowledge, of UK electricity regulations and contract frameworks (such as NEC or JCT).
