Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to our Edinburgh office, 2 days per week for this position.

We're looking for a Senior Decision Support Manager to join our Insurance and Money Services team with a primary focus on leading the team responsible for Finance partnering the Cost Base (COEs) of the IMS business.
Insurance and Money Services is a newly formed business within Tesco Group, with a remit to provide Tesco customers with great products across everyday Finance needs such as Insurance and Travel money. Given this is a newly formed business, this role will provide the opportunity to stand up a Cost focussed team with the remit of Finance Partnering the Centres of Expertise across IMS.
You'll have exposure to several Executive stakeholders in this role as well as playing a pivotal role in the wider Finance function. The role will focus on ensuring the Cost team deliver monthly reporting, forecasting and insight to inform the financial impact of strategic decision making as well as setting the broader team development and alignment.
A key outcome of this role is helping to shape the Finance service offering and support needed for a fit for purpose cost base of the go forward business, ensuring the team structure and outputs best fit the needs of the business.

This role will lead the Cost Decision Support team and will be a key member of the Commercial Finance leadership team as well as supporting the broader Finance Function. Key stakeholders will include the Head of Commercial Finance, Chief Financial Officer along with the Product Finance teams and the relevant Business Executive and Senior Management of the COEs.
This role will best suit someone who can demonstrate an ambition to grow and deliver business outcomes. In doing this, the opportunity to put your own stamp on the Cost team is available along with being involved in broader finance and business leadership decision making.
What you'll be doing
- Actively participate as a member of the Commercial Finance Leadership team
- Lead and develop the Cost Decision Support Team
- Set the strategic direction for the team, their outputs, and ways of working both across the Business and within Finance
- Partnering the Business teams and setting the agenda for a consistent finance offering across the COEs.
- Lead the oversight and development of month end cost reporting, data and analysis.
- Lead the Budgeting & Forecasting cycles for the Centres of Expertise.
- Oversee the consolidation of the entirety of the IMS cost base, both those within the COEs and those within the Value Stream product areas.
- Ensure there is appropriate Investment Appraisal control and that business cases meet the required returns and business outcomes.
- Consolidate the Change portfolio spend and benefit reporting.
- Oversee Cost & Headcount management, working with the People team and business areas as appropriate.
- Lead the Cost Allocations work which provides a key insight into product profitability and drivers of cost across the business.
We need you to have
- Professional accountancy qualification (minimum +7 years qualified experience).
- Can demonstrate examples of leading financial reporting and/or management accounting.
- Understanding of the cost drivers of a business and having shown how to optimise costs across volume and central cost areas.
- Understanding of relevant external regulation Proficient user of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to partner and build relationships across a leadership and Exco team.

- Demonstrable experience of being able to quickly form networks and hit the ground running.

Following the announcement regarding Tesco's strategic partnership with Barclays, this role will support our Insurance and Money Services team and will remain with Tesco.
