Head of IT Operations @Greencore
As the Head of Operations at Greencore, you will oversee the IT Operations teams, which include Applications, Infrastructure, Security, Mobile Support, and Service Desk. The objective is to uphold a dependable, high-performing, and adaptable suite of integrated services. This entails effectively managing both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of a governed customer excellence experience. Additionally, the role involves a commitment to consistently enhancing IT Operational Services to align with evolving business requirements.
What you'll be doing
- Establish and continuously improve the Greencore IT Service model, in accordance with the needs of the business, to ensure IT operational services are delivered in a robust and cost-effective way
- Develop, implement, and refine suitable service governance procedures to effectively enhance end-to-end services, ensuring they are secure and compliant throughout the process of improvement
- Establish and cultivate strategic partner relationships and governance frameworks aimed at enhancing the IT services provided, ensuring that service levels consistently meet or surpass the requirements of the business
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team by establishing clear plans and assigning ownership, aiming to develop and implement practices that enhance our IT services. This includes proactive maintenance of our core systems and infrastructure to ensure their optimal performance
- Build and lead an effective and engaged team, that operates with high performance. Focus on aligned goals and development plans to drive skills, progression & succession plans and retention levels
- Stay connected to ongoing technology market trends and identify any potential improvements to the IT Service Model
- Budget, forecast, and control spend effectively helping IT and Greencore operate against our financial plans and ensuring opportunities are identified for improvements and risks are understood and actively managed to reduce overspend
What we're looking for
- Deep knowledge of IT systems: Infrastructure, Applications, Security, Mobile and Service Desk, and various enterprise software solutions
- Proven ability to lead and manage IT teams, including experience in mentoring, coaching, and performance management
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills are essential
- Ability to develop and implement IT strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives, including long-term planning and the capacity to anticipate future technology trends and their potential impact
- Experience in managing large-scale IT projects, including budget management, timelines, and resource allocation. Familiarity with project management methodologies like Agile or Waterfall is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical-stakeholders, other departments, and senior management
- Understanding of how IT impacts business operations and how to leverage technology to achieve business goals (budgeting, financial planning, cost control)
- Expertise in identifying potential risks and implementing measures to mitigate them
- Ability to effectively manage and resolve IT crises and incidents, developing and executing disaster recovery and business continuity plans
