Head of Sustainable Polymers & Composites
Job description The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre is looking for a leader to oversee implementation of technology strategy and business development for the Sustainable Polymers & Composites Group. You will be responsible for leading a team to hit financial and programme delivery targets for the group, developing and managing multiple-work streams of activity, managing significant project resources and mitigating major risks and issues. You will establish a UK wide and global reputation for the group, establishing key research and industrial partnerships and securing funds to advance the technology strategy and deliver impact for the industrial sector in NI and beyond. Be part of delivering our mission to innovate and create impact in advanced manufacturing - for business and society, in Northern Ireland and globally.
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:- Honours degree, equivalent or higher qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Significant evidence of leading R&D teams in sustainable composites, including motivating and developing a collaborative team to meet financial and programme delivery targets across multiple work streams.
- Significant and relevant experience in a leadership role within composites research and innovation that has delivered demonstrable industry impact.
- Recent and relevant proven track record in developing successful industry and academic stakeholder relationships and delivering high quality, on time, and within budget project outcomes for a range of complex and innovative projects.
- Strong and evidenced understanding of business development principles and practices.
- Strong track record in securing or contributing successfully to multi-million (+£1m) R&D funding applications from local, national and international bodies.
