GENERAL PURPOSE Working under general supervision, managing strategic business projects from original concept through final implementation and ensures adherence to quality standards. Acts as liaison between project team and assigned business units or vendors around decisions that may be impacted by the project. Collects, analyses, reviews, documents, and communicates business needs and requirements to the organisation, and feeds back solution design and processes through direct interaction with business partners. Your future team manages a variety of projects across the organisation that in the upcoming year could include the transformation of our Human Resources organisation, the launch of a new eCommerce platform for contract customers, the remodel of our employee workplace, or the modernisation of our manufacturing systems and processes. This position offers variety and exposure to all functions and brands across the organisation, working on exciting projects that are moving Herman Miller forward in the marketplace. There are great opportunities for growth alongside a strong, supportive team of project management peers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Guide project sponsors to structure the project for success with the right resources, tools, and methodologies from kickoff through implementation.
  • Ensures a common understanding by setting expectations in accordance with the project plan in order to align stakeholders and team members.
  • Records detailed customer requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders in order to establish the project deliverables, using appropriate requirement gathering techniques.
  • Ensures that the design and integration of proposed people, process, and technology solutions leads to the desired project outcomes and deliverables.
  • Identifies high level risks and constraints and implements approved actions and workarounds to mitigate project risk events to ensure continued execution of the overall project.
  • Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques in order to keep the project plan accurate, updated,and reflective of authorised project changes as defined in the change management plan, and facilitates customer acceptance.
  • Monitors and measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to communicate to all stakeholders.
  • Monitors the execution of all tasks as defined in the project plan in order to achieve the project goals.
  • Assist project sponsor in resource planning and work breakdown structure to define timeline and resource needs to fulfil project objectives
  • Manage partnership with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Utilise project management best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement and make adjustments as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or equivalent work experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Five to seven years of relevant technical or business work and management experience involving three plus years of experience as a project management professional. Experience with large, complex, global projects is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the business, and the short- and long-term direction of the business and technology.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and navigate organisational structure and conflict management
  • Ability to provide leadership, encouragement, guidance, and support to diverse and dispersed teams
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Expert communication skills, e.g., written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation.
  • Must be financially literate and possess business acumen.
  • Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools used in the Herman Miller office environment.
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations.
