Scope:

Reports to the Technical Manager the job holder will support all members of Production, Engineering, Hygiene and Technical Team to ensure all stages of manufacture from development, customer acceptance, hygiene, engineering and full production are controlled correctly ensuring compliance to all policies, codes of practice, legislation, ethical systems and work instructions.

Through the continual management, development and auditing of the Quality Management System (QMS) ensure that the appropriate process control systems and procedures exist to deliver consistent and effective control of all products.

To work closely with the Site Management team to ensure all Food Safety, Quality and Legal requirements are controlled and met.

To deliver a Continuous Quality & Food Safety Improvement program through the development and implementation of improvement techniques on site.

Principal Accountabilities: Performance Indicators

Ensure that all Quality, Food Safety, Process, GMP, G&HP, Microbiological and QC checks on and off line are being carried out in conjunction with specific work instructions and company procedures.

Routine tasks 100% complete all the time and any non conformances raised and rectified.

Assisting in developing and improving site food safety and quality manual system. Site systems up to date.

Responsible for new creating programs to labelling and metal detecting equipment on site.

Site labelling and metal detecting systems up to date.

Carry out and monitor supplier approval (BRC certs, SAQ's, & ingredient specs) all in date & ingredient specs are as the customer requirements As per the customer requirements prerequisite's in the HACCP

Carryout continuous monitoring of all Freezers, Units and Chillers with the temperature monitoring system, at the pre described frequency in site procedures. Product produced is stored safe and to set parameters 100% of the time and any issues are resolved immediately or contingency plans are put in place to avoid and Food Safety issues.

Organise the concession and hold log, out of spec and out of date ingredients. Raising concessions for out of date products with suppliers, report to the technical manager for release or disposal of held items.All non-conforming products identified, and correct RCA taken place - all relevant parties informed.

Hold/Concession procedure followed to close out.

Act as site auditor review the document log, correct versions are in place across the site. Site Documents and Procedures are always up to date and in use.

Any practices outside the written procedures are driven out of the site and continually improved.

Act as one of internal auditors. Carry out internal audits as per the internal audit system.

Full audit system in place to ensure QMS is adhered too and any non-conformances are closed out in a timely manner.

Administering of internal non-conformances found during audits or daily and all root cause investigations towards resolving issues.All non-conformances closed on timely manner.

Assisting in administering of complaints.

Assisting in all root cause investigations towards resolving consumer complaints, internal investigations and supplier issues.

Compile the monthly CPM completion report to the site manager and site production management

Assist all departments in investigations into consumer, customer and internal complaints including food safety incidents on site. Ensure all issues are route caused adequately to resolve and ensure they don't happen again.

CPM reduces month by month, and over the year.

All Complaint trending information is updated monthly.

Work closely with every Technical Team member to ensure the team succeeds.

Drive personal and department improvement into each individual within your remit. Assist wherever possible to get the best out of the team.

Full Technical Team work closely together and understand what part they all play in the over overall team and business.Team are used to their maximum potential and the business is getting value out of each member in team.

All issues, investigations closed out satisfactorily and in a professional manner.

Each team member is driven and positive. They are clear on expectations and results required.

The Technical team are used to their best ability to assist in improving the site and the business.

Working closely with and advising manufacturing departments on technical/quality aspects including technical control, food safety and quality legislation, weight management procedures, product protection, quality control, shelf life and organoleptic panels,

Installing and Monitoring all resulting procedures and keeping all site communication up to date. Assisting the technical manager on updating and monitoring of the training matrix, including the RSPO training as per group procedures.Ensure all relevant procedures are written and trained out effectively to all departments.

Ensure company meets with legal requirements and is up to speed with any changes/new legislation.

As per the training matrix and RSPO procedure

Understand HACCP and play an active part in ensuring the sites HACCP program is run effectively.

Assist in ensuring all employees onsite understand the importance of following the Food Safety and Quality Systems.All HACCP studies are reviewed with the team as a minimum annually or immediately when changes take place.

HACCP audits are a success and drives improvement to site.

Completion of raw material and packaging intake quality assessment functions.

Work with Supply chain and Stores team to ensure all Raw Materials are supplied to site in specification. Checking and logging of COC's, COA's

Intake and goods in procedure is followed 100% of the time.

Have an important role in the success in driving the BRC Food Quality Audit and all other site customer audits and visits for the site.

Assist with the audit and use available resource to obtain any requested information (including traceability). Ensure audit is professionally organised and in control.Ensure Internal Audit Systems are carried out and all Non Conformances are closed out in a timely manner.

Drive any improvement through site to ensure BRC Grade A and all other customer audit scores are a success year on year.

Completion and updating of the RSPO mass balance account.

Updating the palm oil derived raw material supplier list and completion of the monthly RSPO website supplier certification verification

As per RSPO policies and group procedures.

Comply with the Company's Health & Safety Policy and maintain basic Health & Safety requirements at all times.

Pursue safe working practice and take action if any machinery or your working environment becomes unsafe by reporting to your Team Leader/Supervisor/Manager As per site procedures.

  • An understanding of the bakery category. • Knowledge and Understanding of the Food Safety and Quality requirements of both the business and the customer

Experience and Qualifications:

  • HACCP Level 2/3
  • Food Safety Level 2/3
  • Internal Auditor
  • Some knowledge of ambient/frozen fermented and sweet goods including ready meal /frozen pastry production.
  • Awareness of the latest version of relevant Standards including BRC and able to steer factory towards achieving and maintaining results.
