Job Responsibility:

Title: Engineering Manager, Craigavon As the Engineering Manager, you will lead by example, demonstrating ownership, accountability, effective decision making and setting the tone for the company culture. You will have a pivotal role in the success of the Maintenance Department, ensuring continuous and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for leading and developing the Maintenance Engineers and Coordinators, who will report directly to you. Additionally, you will have site management responsibilities including chairperson for the site management team. . Engineering Manager Job Details:

• Lead and develop the maintenance and engineering team, focusing activity on strategic and business unit goals to develop a culture of continuous improvement.
• Chair the Craigavon site operational management team and liaise with the European Supply Chain team.
• Lead and develop sample tufting process to ensure good quality and timely delivery to customers.
• Ensure the development and use of leading-edge technologies through quality engineering and innovation to improve the efficiency of plant and equipment.
• Ensure that plant and facilities are maintained to the highest standards to continually improve efficiency, productivity and safety.
• Regularly review engineering practices, procedures and systems using Maintenance software to effectively control stock levels and material usage, steering on maintenance budgets.
• In conjunction with Operations, develop the machinery and the product to maximise technological advancements.
• Manage all CEA projects including investigation, setting specifications, obtaining quotations, installation, and commissioning to enhance current operating capability.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers to optimise engineering inventory costs.
• Machine settings and MCH files incl. yarn-use under control for all signed off products for all qualified machines.
• Check MCH file with yarn-use for all global products at sign off and correct where required.
• Implement and control the operation of Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Standards to remain compliant with legislation and internal procedures including ISO 9001 & 14001.
• Develop and implement ideas, particularly around sustainability and waste, to move the organisation towards our Climate Take Back mission.

• Provide technical support and liaison with New Product Design & Development to ensure that there is a practical application for Design requirements.
• Provide support to manufacturing management by effectively diagnosing and resolving operational issues with manufacturing equipment keeping downtime to a minimum.

Engineering Manager Requirements: Essential

• Educated to Engineering degree/diploma (BSc) level or equivalent
• Leadership skills that fit with a coaching culture
• Cultural awareness
• Proven experience of successfully leading teams typically gained in an Operational environment
• Flexible in approach and takes ownership of decisions
• Experience of leading successful engineering / continuous improvement projects
• An understanding of mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Experience in fault finding and extensive knowledge of mechanics
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Experience of using Microsoft Project
• Basic electrical aptitude

• PLC programming in Siemens S7 and others
• Project management skills
• Understanding of control systems and design
• IOSH or equivalent in safety management
• Experience of budget management
